Sarva-bhuta-sthitam yo mam bhajaty ekatvam asthitah, sarvatha vartamano 'pi sa yogi mayi vartate

The yogi who worships Me dwelling in all beings, established in unity — that yogi abides in Me regardless of how they live. One who sees the Divine in all beings and lives from that unitive vision is always dwelling in God, regardless of outer circumstances.

  • Worshiping the Divine present in all beings is the highest bhakti
  • Unity of vision means abiding in God under all conditions
  • Outer lifestyle matters less than the inner realization of oneness
Tesham jnanee nitya-yukta eka-bhaktir vishishyate, priyo hi jnanino 'tyartham aham sa ca mama priyah

Of all these devotees, the one with knowledge (jnani), who is always absorbed in Me with single-minded devotion, is the best. I am very dear to such a one, and that one is also very dear to Me. The jnani who combines knowledge with unwavering devotion is the highest type of seeker — a beloved of God.

  • Knowledge combined with devotion is the highest spiritual attainment
  • Single-pointed devotion makes one especially dear to God
  • The jnani transcends ordinary worship through deep union
Kim punar brahmanah punya bhakta raja-rshayas tatha, anityam asukham lokam imam prapya bhajasva mam

How much more then, righteous brahmanas and devoted royal sages — having obtained this impermanent and joyless world, engage in devotional service unto Me. If even those in lower positions can attain God, those born into righteous circumstances should certainly seize the opportunity for bhakti.

  • This world is temporary and ultimately unsatisfying — turn to God
  • Those with favourable circumstances have even greater opportunity for devotion
  • Bhakti is the highest use of human life regardless of social position
Mayi cha ananya-yogena bhaktir avyabhicharini, vivikta-desha-sevitvam aratir jana-samsadi

Unwavering devotion to Me through single-minded yoga, inclination toward solitary places, and aversion to the company of worldly people — these mark the knower of Truth. Pure devotion to God is itself the highest knowledge.

  • Unswerving devotion to the Divine is essential
  • Solitude supports spiritual practice
  • Avoiding excessive worldly association preserves clarity
sarva-karmany api sada kurvano mad-vyapasrayah mat-prasadad avapnoti sasvatam padam avyayam

Taking refuge in me, one attains through my grace the eternal, imperishable abode, even while performing all actions always. Divine grace, working through devotion, enables liberation without abandonment of worldly duties.

  • Divine grace enables liberation even while one continues performing all actions
  • Taking refuge in Krishna is the key that unlocks the eternal, imperishable state
  • This verse integrates karma, bhakti, and liberation into a single unified teaching
