Sarva-bhuta-sthitam yo mam bhajaty ekatvam asthitah, sarvatha vartamano 'pi sa yogi mayi vartate

The yogi who worships Me dwelling in all beings, established in unity — that yogi abides in Me regardless of how they live. One who sees the Divine in all beings and lives from that unitive vision is always dwelling in God, regardless of outer circumstances.

  • Worshiping the Divine present in all beings is the highest bhakti
  • Unity of vision means abiding in God under all conditions
  • Outer lifestyle matters less than the inner realization of oneness
Na ca mat-sthani bhutani pashya me yogam aishvaram, bhuta-bhrn na ca bhuta-stho mamatma bhuta-bhavanah

And yet beings do not rest in Me — behold My divine mystery! My Self, which sustains all beings and brings them into existence, does not actually dwell in them. Just as the mighty wind, blowing everywhere, always rests in space, so do all beings rest in Me.

  • God sustains creation without being confined by it
  • The divine is both immanent and transcendent simultaneously
  • Understanding divine mystery requires contemplative perception
Yathakasha-sthito nityam vayuh sarvatra-go mahan, tatha sarvani bhutani mat-sthanity upadharaya

Just as the mighty wind, moving everywhere, ever rests in the sky, so know that all beings rest in Me. The analogy of wind and sky illustrates how the Lord holds all existence within Himself without being touched or limited by that existence.

  • All creation dwells in God as wind dwells in the sky
  • God is the substratum of all that exists
  • Diversity of creation does not diminish divine unity
Yac capi sarva-bhutanam bijam tad aham arjuna, na tad asti vina yat syan maya bhutam characaram

I am the generating seed of all existences, O Arjuna. There is no being, moving or unmoving, that can exist without Me. The Lord declares Himself to be the very seed — the fundamental creative principle — without which nothing in creation, animate or inanimate, could exist or function.

  • God is the seed of all existence — the creative principle in everything
  • Nothing in creation, moving or still, exists independently of the Divine
  • Recognising God as the ultimate cause leads to seeing divinity everywhere
Dyav a-prithivyor idam antaram hi vyaptam tvayaikena dishash ca sarvah, drishtvadbhutam rupam ugram tavedam loka-trayam pravyathitam mahatman

O mighty soul, You alone pervade the space between heaven and earth and all directions. Seeing Your wondrous and terrible form, all three worlds are trembling.

  • God pervades all space between heaven and earth
  • The universal form inspires both wonder and fear
  • Even the cosmos trembles before the divine
Namaḥ purastād atha pṛiṣhṭhatas te namo 'stu te sarvata eva sarva, ananta-vīryāmita-vikramas tvaṁ sarvaṁ samāpnoṣhi tato 'si sarvaḥ

Salutations to You from the front, from behind, and from all sides. O all, of infinite power and immeasurable might, You pervade everything and thus You are everything.

  • God is present in all directions without exception
  • The divine is not separate from the world — it is everything
  • Infinite power underlies all existence
Sarvataḥ pāṇi-pādaṁ tat sarvato 'kṣi-śiro-mukham, sarvataḥ śrutimal loke sarvam āvṛtya tiṣṭhati

That Brahman has hands and feet everywhere, eyes, heads, and faces in every direction, and ears in all places; it exists pervading all things in the universe. The omnipresence of the Absolute is affirmed — it pervades all creation.

  • The Supreme pervades all existence
  • Brahman is omnipresent and all-encompassing
  • The Divine is accessible in every direction and being
Yad aditya-gatam tejo jagad bhasayate 'khilam, yac candramasi yac cagnau tat tejo viddhi mamakam

The splendor of the sun that illuminates the entire universe, the light of the moon, and the radiance of fire — know all these to be My glory. Krishna reveals that all light in creation, whether solar, lunar, or fire, is a manifestation of His own divine effulgence, directing the seeker to see the divine in all luminosity.

  • All light in the universe — sun, moon, and fire — emanates from the Supreme Lord
  • Recognizing the divine source in natural phenomena is a form of spiritual wisdom
  • Krishna's glory pervades all aspects of material and cosmic existence
Gam avishya ca bhutani dharayamy aham ojasa, pushnam caushadhih sarvah somo bhutva rasatmakah

Entering the earth, I sustain all beings with My energy. Becoming the moon, I nourish all plants with the juice of life. Krishna declares that He is the sustaining force within the earth and the moon — the very vitality that feeds plants and supports all living creatures — revealing the immanent divine presence in nature.

  • The Supreme Lord sustains all living beings by entering the earth as its holding energy
  • The nourishing quality of the moon and plant life is a direct expression of divine grace
  • God is the hidden sustaining force within all natural phenomena
Aham vaishvanaro bhutva praninam deham ashritah, pranapana-samayuktah pacamy annam catur-vidham

I am the fire of digestion in every living body, and I am the air of life — outgoing and incoming — by which I digest the four kinds of food. Krishna reveals that even the biological process of digestion is sustained by His divine presence as the digestive fire within all beings, connecting the mundane act of eating to the sacred.

  • The divine is present in the body as the fire of digestion sustaining physical life
  • Every act of nourishment is ultimately powered by the Supreme Lord's energy
  • The sacred is not separate from the biological — God pervades all bodily functions
